The City of Akron’s Summer Concerts in the Parks started this week, and will run through Aug. 14.
The first week and the last week of the concert series feature Bicentennial festivals prior to the music starting.
Join the fun with yard games, face painting, delicious food, and of course, free live music. Festivals begin at 6pm and the concerts run from 7-9pm.
Akron Mayor Shammas Malik says “We’re excited to continue celebrating our Bicentennial year with even more summer concerts and festivals. We have an eventful summer season planned with concerts downtown and throughout our parks so there is sure to be something for everyone.”
In the event of bad weather, Akron Recreation and Parks will post on their Facebook page of any cancellations. You can also call the city’s 3-1-1 line (330-375-2311) for information about cancellations.
