US Marshals tracked down and arrested the 30 year old Akron man on Wednesday, who allegedly shot at police officers during an attempted traffic stop Tuesday morning.

Jon Tae Von Angelo Nelson now faces multiple charges, including Felonious Assault on a Police officer, and Police Chief Brian Harding says Nelson’s arrest “sends a clear message that violence against law enforcement will not be tolerated”.

Akron Police put out a statewide alert for Nelson on Tuesday, when they say he sped off in a silver F-150 pickup truck, after allegedly shooting at officers near the intersection of Vernon Odom Boulevard and Tyler Street at about 3:50AM. At the time, they didn’t know it was Nelson they were seeking, and asked the public for tips to help them find the driver of that truck.
