It was a busy weekend for Akron police, with two separate violent incidents involving shootings at bars; one downtown, and the other, in Firestone Park.
Police say Security guards at the Field House Lounge in the 300 block of Paul Williams Street, downtown, called to report a shooting at 2:05AM Sunday morning, and when officers arrived; they found two men shot, who are now hospitalized in critical condition.
A third man, they say, who had been grazed by a bullet, took himself to the hospital in Stow.
From what they’ve gathered so far, an unknown gunman opened fire during a concert at the bar, and fled the scene.
Now, they’re asking for tips to help them find out who did it.
In addition; there was a fight at 4:45 AM, outside J. Dublin’s Pour House in the 700 block of East Archwood Avenue, in Firestone Park, which resulted in one man getting shot in the shoulder, and another man getting punched in the face.
The man who got shot, told police he was out in the parking lot, heard an argument, and somebody started shooting.
The man whose face got lacerated when somebody hit him, says he doesn’t know who did it.
Police are also looking for tips on that fight, and say they don’t know if, or how the two incidents are connected.
