This week’s athletes are from Revere High School.
Camryn Bir is a senior, three-sport athlete, and captain of both the Revere Girls Swim Team and the Revere Girls Cross Country Team. She is a 4-year letterman on the cross country team, a 3-year letterman on the swim team, and she runs track. Camryn joined the swim team her sophomore year with no prior swimming experience during her recovery from a long-term bone injury, and in her first season she received an Honorable Mention in the Suburban League and was selected for Revere’s Minuteman Award. She has also earned the Suburban League Scholar Athlete award in all 10 of her sports seasons to date. Camryn excels academically with a 4.70 GPA and is the president of Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society, president and refounder of her school’s environmental club, vice president of National Honor Society, serves on the principal’s League of Leaders, and is an active volunteer in her community.
Sal Bonacuse is a senior, 4-year letterman and two-year captain of the Revere Wrestling team. Sal has amassed over 110 career wins for the Minutemen. He is also a three-year letterman in soccer and a two-year starter on defense making it all the way to the state finals in 2023! Sal has been a Suburban League Scholar Athlete eight times over as he maintains a 4.310 cumulative grade point average. On Sundays, you can find Sal at Saint Victor Parish School of Religion where he is a co-teacher for the 7th grade class. Sal likes math. He is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, the national math honor society, and participates in competitions when he is available. He was recently nominated by Congressman Sykes to apply to the United States Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Military Academy. Sal plans to study electrical engineering and computer science upon graduation hopefully, at one of the Academies.
