High School Playoffs Week II

The High School Football playoffs head into week two and the Akron area is down to six teams to cheer for.

In Division I the Wadsworth Grizzlies out of the Suburban League advanced with a thrilling come from behind win over GlenOak last week, 35-28.  Senior running back Jack Snowball ran for three touchdowns.  Wadsworth must deal with another 10-1 team in the Hudson Explorers.  Hudson won in overtime last week over Findley.  The game will be played at Fawcett Stadium in Canton.

Division II has three local involved in action and two will tangle with each other.  Walsh Jesuit will square off against Kent-Roosevelt on Friday night at Twinsburg High School.  Both teams scored a ton of points in their opening round wins and there should be a lot of flickers on the scoreboard.

Tallmadge in Division II has a showdown with the Greenmen fro Aurora on Friday night in Solon.  The Blue Devils defeated New Philadelphia last week at home, 14-7.  Tallmadge has won nine straight games.

In Division III on Friday the STVM Fighting Irish will battle Lake Catholic at Bedford Stadoim.  The Irish ran out early last week in their convincing win over University School.
