Play-Off Picture a Little Clearer

altWell we are now in week 10 of the high school football season and we still have a lot of playoff questions to be answered.

In Division I the Wadsworth Grizzlies are still in the top 8 for the playoffs but have fallen out of the top 4 which would mean an away playoff game for Wadsworth in round 1.

Over in Division II the charging Tallmadge Blue Devils are now in the top 8 and would make the playoffs which could spell trouble for many teams. The Blue Devils got off to a 0-2 start but have been on a roll since winning 7 straight games. The story in Division II is the Walsh Jesuit Warriors, now 7-1, and ranked number 1 in their region.

In Division III the Irish of STVM are number 4 which is good for a home game in round 1 but the Irish have proven to be human the past couple of weeks.

Manchester in Division IV and Mogadore in Division VI are smaller schools that traditionally make that playoff run and once again they are doing just that. The Panthers are up to number 8 while the young Wildcats are penciled in at number 5.

The latest polls from the OHSAA come out Wednesday so we can get more of a feeling heading into the final weekend of regular season high school football.
